My Mum taught me to knit and crochet when I was eight years old and I have never looked back. Since an early age I have always admired any detail in the back view of clothes. For a long time I have made waistcoats enhancing the back view and they became a bit of a statement for me.
After years of designing and knitting, the desire to create a waistcoat from wire became absorbing.
I hatched a plan to make a waistcoat for each season using coloured copper scientific wire and beads.
My dream came true October 2017. After completing the Winter Waistcoat: Ivy and Ice, the Oriel Bevan Jones Gallery are showing all Four Seasons together until the end of November 2017. I am over the moon!
Each of the three waistcoats are being exhibited in the window of the Oriel Bevan Jones Gallery in Carmarthen from 9 July to 5 August 2016.

The base of the Summer Meadow Waistcoat has been made up of over a thousand blades of grass in a myriad of shades of green, adorned with beads.
I sprinkled, buttercups, poppies over the entire waistcoat to compliment the daisies.

Buttercups are at the experimental stage and here are three variations. The yellow beads help enormously with the colour as there is no ‘yellow’ in scientific wire.

Dragonflies dancing around the pond inspire me with their ancient beauty. I made some into brooches to be pinned to clothing, hats or curtains.
Butterflies are so beautiful and lovely to have pinned to summer hats, clothing or just about anywhere they can be seen!
